It hadn't been to long ago that Rosalie had been feeling really lousy, but what was she to do about it? There wasn't much that she really could do about it, except maybe deal with it. She was so close to telling Emmett about the baby now, but she ended up chickening out at the end and bombed that mission horribly. So when Emmett asked her if she wanted to go hunting with him today, Rosalie kindly declined his offer and just laid on the bed that the two shared. Even though vampires didn't sleep, it was nice to have so that they could be comfortable, or in this case, be the place where a baby vampire was created. As scared as she was about this baby, Rosie was sort of happy and excited about it at the same time, even though she knew that it was going to be difficult within the next months of her pregnancy. Rosie needed to tell Emmett soon, because she wanted to tell Alice and Jasper and the rest of the family why she had suddenly become even more of a crazy person lately with her attitude.
Telling them was out of the question at the moment, because Rosalie refused to tell anyone before she told Emmett. And honestly, she was hoping that no one was going to guess about it either, but most of them hadn't been exposed to a pregnancy before, so it more than likely wasn't going to be the first thing that came to mind when she began to get more and more hostile. It was about mid-morning now and Rosalie didn't really feel like getting up and moving around, mainly because she hadn't had enough strength to. So she rathered to just lay there on the bed, comfortable, until Emmett had arrived home again. She wasn't exactly sure if he was just going to be gone for the afternoon or if he was going to be gone for the weekend, but what she was sure of was the fact that she missed him and wanted him to come home at that point. She needed to tell him and she wasn't going to dilly dally with telling him any longer either. This was something that he needed to know and quickly, since she was going to begin showing soon.

Esme hummed to herself as she moved through the house, making sure everything was spotless. Carlisle was out working, Edward was probably off with Bella, and the rest of her children were off hunting, save for Rosalie, who Esme had been worried about as of late. She seemed to have more of an attitude than usual, and was spending alot of time up in her room, by herself. Sighing, she brushed a strand of hair out of her face as she hesitated at the bottom of the stairs, resting a hand on the smooth railing.
Should she go talk to Rosalie to see what was wrong? Honestly, Esme had never really gotten as close to the type of relationship she had with her other children with Rosalie. Now was a good chance, unless the pretty blonde pitched a fit and decided to toss Esme out of the room.
She was up the stairs in a blur, now lingering outside Rosalie and Emmett's door. Her fist knocked on the door twice, very softly. She waited a moment, and turned the knob, opening the door enough to peek her head in. Normally she respected her children's privacy, but Esme was too concerned right now to care much about privacy.
"Rose? Can we talk?"

Drifting in and out of various thoughts, Rosie had finally been pulled out of them all when she heard the voice of someone very familiar to her; Esme. Esme was a mother figure to her, even if sometimes the two hadn't had the closest of all relationships. It wasn't that Rosie didn't like Esme, because that was most definitely not the case, but it was just that she still wasn't fond of the idea of not being able to grow old and that she was now stuck being a vampire for all of eternity.
"Rose? Can we talk?"
That was exactly what Rosie had heard, pulling her from her thoughts and back into reality. Turning over onto her other side so that she was now able to see the door from where she was laying, Rosie looked over at Esme and nodded, signaling to the woman that she was willing to talk. And if she hadn't noticed the slight nod of her head, Rosie backed it up with, "What's wrong mother?" she asked.
It wasn't often that anyone had dared to venture into a room where Rosalie had been in before them, because something was bound to happen and words were more than likely going to be said. All Rosie could hope for now, was a quick way to brush off the conversation that she was saving for Emmett's arrival back home.

Esme flashed a quick smile, opening the door the rest of the way and slipping inside, shutting it silently. She knew it wouldn't stop any of the others from listening if any of them came home early, but it was the matter of the point. She leaned against the door, watching Rosalie for a moment with golden eyes before moving to sit at her feet, on the corner of the bed.
"I'm going to get right to it." She stated with another small smile. "I want to know what's wrong with you. You've been more aloof lately, and when you do come downstairs you're usually full of more attitude than usual. Is something wrong or something bugging you?" She asked, folding her hands in her lap as she looked at the blonde vampire with a mild spark of curiosity in her eyes. Esme would understand if Rosalie didn't want to talk about it, and she'd leave and go back to her cleaning if that was the case. But she was curious and worried at the same time, and did hope for once Rosalie would choose to open up about something.
"Please tell me? I'm worried sweetheart."

Thinking quickly on her toes so to speak, Rosalie answered with, "Nothing is really wrong. It just seems like Emmett's spending more and more time away from me lately," she said, knowing the reason that he was doing so was because she was even fighting with him these days. If Rosie could pull it off and make it seem that her attitude was due to the lack of time Emmett had spent with her, then she would be as good as gold. If not, then she would have to tell Esme the reason why she was in such a sour mood lately, even as much as she wanted Emmett to be the first one that she had told.
"And my attitude hasn't changed much, but the more Edward brings that girl over here, the angrier I get," Rosie explained, knowing that her mother knew that Rosie wanted to desperately be a human again. "I don't know what he sees in that girl, I really don't, but I don't think that she should be hanging around the house as often as she does," Rosie said, propping herself up on her bed slightly. "I mean, look at poor Jasper, having a few urges that he can't control and snapping at her. You would think that the twit would learn from the first time he snapped at her not to come back over here," Rosalie said, rolling her eyes slightly and crossing her arms over her chest.

"You should have gone hunting with the others." Esme said, more as a suggestion rather than a statement. She noticed Rosalie's eyes were a bit darker than the normal golden colour, but at least she wasn't starving herself. "It would probably do you some good, you know. To be out and about in the sunshine."
Esme let out a soft sigh at her daughter's next words. It seemed Bella was a large part of the problem, which she already knew about. "Bella's a wonderful young lady, Rose. You should be happy for Edward that he's finally found someone." Esme said quietly, but doubted Rosalie would ever get to like Bella, considering Bella had the one thing Rosalie wanted - mortality. "I understand about Jasper, but he seems to be getting better at controlling himself - but he's gone on a few more hunting trips than normal these past few months, so that's helping too." She continued, the corners of her mouth twitching slightly, as if she wanted to smile.
But she still felt there was still something more than just Bella causing the problem, and that Emmett was leaving her alone more often. She remained silent for a moment, thinking. Esme recognized the signs from her human life, and the signs almost pointed to - but no, that was impossible. She and every other vampire had always been told that it was impossible to ever had children. But she knew something was different.
"Rosalie, when was the last time you ate?" Esme suddenly asked, searching Rose's face for some kind of reaction.

Rosalie sighed softly, "I don't want to go with the boys," she said to her mother. "I don't like being the only girl out there. If Alice was going with them, then I would have gone as well," Rosie told her mother. "Not only that, but Emmett and I got into a bit of a fight before they left to go hunting and neither of us really wanted to be around each other at that point, so the boys left and I stayed here," Rosie explained.
Hearing her mother sort of side with Bella on what she had said, made Rosie shift a bit uncomfortably from where she was laying down. "I am happy that Edward found someone that he can be in love with, but she should be a vampire, not a human," Rosie said. "And I can't stand the fact that Bella can come in here, pretty much demanding that she wants to be a vampire, when she hasn't properly listened to all the pro's and con's of being one. She doesn't realize the consequences that are going to take place when and if she is transformed into one of us. I'm sorry, but I'm completely against it Mother," Rosie said in one breath.
Opening her mouth to speak, Rosie almost just blurted out her secret right then and there, but she caught herself just as she was about to. This pregnancy was a very rare one indeed. Only about three or four vampire pregnancies lasted every thousand years or so. If a vampire got pregnant, they wouldn't know it at all, because their body would just consume the fetus and nothing would ever happen. But go figure, this one had to stick for Rosie, being that it was something she wasn't all that fond of happening to her. She had always been told that vampires becoming pregnant was something that never happened, because of the chances of the baby surviving were next to nothing. Rosie though, had gone to see vampires much much older than her, some of the oldest ones that had been living, and asked them about it. They explained everything to her and such, then congratulated her, telling her everything that she was going to have to do about this situation. Not only that, but they told her that the closer to the due date that the baby vampire was to be born, she was to be sent to them again, so that she could be taken care of properly by other vampires who had either gone through this or were experienced in handling the tiny vampire.
Rosie then looked to her mother, "The last time I ate was a couple of days ago. Why do you ask?" Rosie asked curiously.

"You, Alice, and I can go out later then. Just us girls." Esme smiled, trying to make her feel better. She didn't like it when the children fought - especially with their significant others. It seemed the fights usually occured between Rosalie and Emmett nowdays with Rosalie's increased attitude, and Esme did want it in the house. But she wasn't going to force them to make up - they'd do it on their own in time. But she was, however, curious about what they had been arguing about. "What were you two fighting about this time?"
"As long as she makes Edward happy, I don't see why it matters if she's vampire or human. I probably wouldn't even care if she were somehow a werewolf." Esme stated. She hadn't seen Edward this happy since, well, never. He seemed like a whole new person now that Bella was in his life, and she loved it. She liked it when her children were happy, and not so depressed like Edward had been, up until meeting Bella. "And I'm not saying she should become a vampire - as much as I'd love another daughter so we could beat the boys at baseball - but if something isn't done soon, she could actually be in danger. I'm saying it might be a good idea for Edward or Carlisle to consider the option, and soon." She continued with a small sigh, shifting on the corner of the bed to sit indian-style, her legs crossed and hands resting in her lap.
Esme's lips quirked sideways into a small smirk. Apparently that wasn't going to work. "Just wondering if maybe eating was another reason for your sudden attitude problem." She mused, pulling at a strand of hair for a moment. "Or if you've been eating weirdly. Because with the way you've been, if I didn't know any better I'd say you were pregnant." She said, and laughed softly. "But that's impossible, so I've already ruled that one out."

When Esme suggested that she go hunting with Alice and Esme, Rosie put a half smile on her face, seeing how much her mother just wanted her to be happy. At first, Rosie was going to decline the offer politely, but she knew that she needed to hunt soon, otherwise she was going to attack Bella and Edward would be sore with her if she did something like that. Even if in the back of her head, that was something Rosalie wouldn't mind doing some days. Instead though, Rosie decided to accept the offer. "I think that may actually be fun," she said, putting a half smile on her face again. "Can Bella be the prey though?" Rosie asked innocently, but with a devilish tone in her voice. "That would make me a lot happier," she said, keeping her cool with it and not changing her facial expression very much.
Her mother then brought up the fact of Edward being happy and that it shouldn't matter if Bella was a human, a vampire, or even a bit of a werewolf. "Mother! How can you say that you'd except Bella if she was a werewolf?!" Rosie asked with an alarmed voice. "I'd rather her become a vampire than be a werewolf," Rosie said. "Filthy hounds," she muttered under her breath. "If Bella's part werewolf, that's crossing the line by far," she said. "And when it comes to baseball, I highly doubt that Bella would be any good at it. Have you seen the way she nearly kills herself all the time by doing barely anything?" Rosie asked her mother. "Besides, that's what we have Maxine for," she said, finally mentioning the newest Cullen child. Rosie still wasn't sure as to how she felt towards the girl, but it was better than Bella.
Then Rosalie heard the words flow out of her mother's mouth, causing her to sort of lose it. Rosie's eyes went a bit wide and she shifted uncomfortably once more on the bed. "I - uh - why would you think that I was pregnant?" Rosie asked, trying not to make it so obvious as to why she was asking this question. "I've been eating normally," she said, even though she had been hunting a few more times than she was use to. Sometimes, she would even pick a fight with Emmett so that she was able to storm out of the house alone and no one would catch on that she was going to hunt or anything.

Esme smiled when Rosalie did, glad something had finally made the girl the slightest bit happy. Now was the part where Esme attempted to rejoin the rest of them downstairs instead of staying up in her room. But Esme laughed at Rosalie's next comment, about Bella being the prey. "Sorry darling, but I don't think that can happen. Edward would be quite unhappy, and it would mean breaking our vegitarian rule. You wouldn't want to disappoint Carlisle now would you?" She asked, still laughing slightly.
Esme blinked slightly at Rosalie's sudden reaction. Putting her hands up in defense, she quickly backtracked. "I was only joking Rosalie! Calm down!" She said, but she was smiling, amused at Rosalie's reaction. Though Esme still wouldn't have cared if Bella was a werewolf. She just wanted the best for them all, and for them all to happy, and if Bella happened to be a werewolf, then oh well. "She's not a werewolf - we all would have been able to sense it the moment she walked in the door." She continued. "Hopefully Maxine will be a good addition to our little family - aren't you happy about having another sister?" Esme questioned. She and Carlisle hadn't really told any of the others about Maxine, until they had showed up back home from their vacation, the new vampire in tow. She still had things to learn about not hunting humans and learn about their way of life, but Esme thought Maxine was going to be with them for a while.
"You forget I was pregnant once in my human life, Rosalie. I know the signs - and you've got them." Esme stated, very quietly. She honestly didn't like to bring it up, because it brought back the memories she never wanted to relive. Memories of the horride life she had before Carlisle had stepped in. "But as I just said, it's impossible, so forget I even mentioned it."

Rosie sighed softly, glad that her mother was helping her calm down a little bit and trying to help her curb her attitude a bit more than what it was now. This could probably work out for the better and help her new found attitude to calm down a bit and go back to her normal attitude which everyone had been use to and didn't mind nearly as much. Rosalie was hoping that that would be the case, becaues she didn't like fighting with Emmett to hide a few things like a baby and hunting more often from him. This whole fighting thing would have to end soon or else Emmett would find out that he was going to be a daddy the hard way - by Rosie's tummy growing larger.
"Yeah, I suppose we can spare Bella for awhile," Rosie admitted. "Wouldn't want prince Edward to be upset again," she said. As much as Edward meant to her as her brother, she still couldn't see what he saw in Bella, a human. But if that was going to work for him, then Rosie couldn't do anything but complain about it a whole lot. And you'd better believe that that was what she was going to do. "No, I don't want to disappoint daddy," Rosie said, not at all wanting to disappoint her father in anyway.
Rosalie tightened the grip that she had around her chest with her arms only a little bit whens he continued on with the conversation, "That wench wouldn't be allowed in this house, would she? If she was a werewolf, I mean. She would technically be on our lands and breaking the treaty," she said. Then Rosie got a vicious smile on her face, "Man, now I wish she was a werewolf," she said. "As for Maine though, I'm still not sure about her. She's got a lot to prove to me still, if she wants to be part of the family and be trusted enough." Rosalie wasn't that fond of new people entering into the family, only because she barely knew them and because of her human past with how she was beaten by the people whom she was supposed to be loved most from.
And that's when Rosie couldn't take it any longer. She knew that it was only her and Esme in the house at the moment, because everyone else was off with each other elsewhere. Hanging her head a little lower, which was something that Rosie had never done because she was never ashamed or embarrassed by much, she said, "It's not impossible."

Esme couldn't help but roll her eyes slightly. Since when was Edward's new title Prince? Shaking her head, she sighed at Rosalie. "I'm glad you've granted Bella a little more time to live then." She said, laughing. "She'll be glad to hear it too." Esme smiled. "And that's good. Carlisle wouldn't want to see you lose control like that."
She shrugged lightly. "I suppose she wouldn't even be in this area, if she were. She'd be living down at La Push, where they used to - and probably still do - live." Esme said. "And I'm sure you'll get used to Maxine in time - Alice and Jasper already consider her part of the family, and so do Carlisle and I." She continued. At least, Esme hoped Rosalie, as well as Edward and Emmett would get used to having another sister. After all, it wasn't like they were going to send her away, after bringing her back here.
Esme blinked for a moment at Rosalie, surprised by her slight mumble of words. Not impossible? Well, that just went against everything she had been told in her 87 years of being a vampire. A frown crossed her face. "Rosalie, are you pregnant sweetheart?"

Rosalie looked at her mother briefly, "If we turn Bella into a vampire, then feed her to the wolves, daddy won't be disappointed with me right? After all, I wouldn't have lost control and tried to suck her blood. It could be one of those consequences of being turned into a vampire that she has to learn from," Rosie suggested with a wicked plan forming in the back of her head, just in case.
"Alice clings to just about anyone, she's a people person for sure. And Jasper is head over heels for her, so he's willing to get alone with Maxine just because Alice does," Rosalie stated. "It's normal for Alice to get along with Maxine, I mean, if she can get along with me, she can get along with just about anyone," she stated. "Emmett and Edward are sure to get along with the girl as well, since everyone around here is so inviting," she said out loud. "Though, give Emmett a little more time than Edward, because Emmett usually backs me up a bit longer than everyone else before he gets along with someone new."
And then the real conversation began, the one about the baby vampire. "I - uh - yeah," Rosie said, stumbling over the words that she wanted to use and which ones she figured would work. "I don't even know how it happened. Well, I know how it happened, but I don't know why it happened. It's such a rare thing, why does it have to happen to me?" Rosie questioned. She wasn't asking Esme that question, but it was a question more directed to herself. "Why couldn't this happen to Alice or something? She'd be a better suit for this sort of thing," Rosie said aloud.

"He'd probably still be disappointed, Rose. Because I think that technically means breaking the treaty - they aren't allowed to eat vampires. And I don't actually think they can." She said, frowning slightly. She'd never actually tested the theory, and wasn't going to. But she was pretty sure if given the option, werewolves would attempt to eat a vampire.
Esme almost laughed. Rosalie was right - about everyone, really. Alice did usually warm up to anyone, and Jasper right behind her. Edward took a bit, but eventually got there, and so did Emmett after attempting to back up Rosalie. The beautiful blonde usually took the longest, but Esme hoped she'd eventually come around after Maxine had been with them for a while.
She listened to Rosalie stumbled over her words for a moment, watching her with a blank face, actually surprised, if not shocked by this news. Esme needed to talk to Carlisle about this - and Rosalie needed to talk to him too. He'd been alive over 300 years, so he probably knew something about all this. And for a moment, as Rosalie suggested it should happen to Alice, Esme almost shook her head. But she didn't. A twinge of actual jealously settled in the pit of her stomach, because it had happened to Rosalie, and not herself. But she flashed a smile on her face - her was her job to help Rosalie through it, not be jealous of her daughter. After all, Rose had wanted a baby in her human life just as much, if not a bit more than Esme had.
'I'm really happy for you Rosalie." Esme smiled. "You deserve it - you're going to be a great mother."

"Yeah, I suppose that you're right," Rosie said, agreeing slightly with her mother about the who thing with Bella and feeding her to the werewolves. Though, that didn't mean that she still couldn't wish for it. And that's what kept a smile on her face; the thought of what could happen if Bella had become a vampire, since she was now close with her good werewolf friend, Jacob. It was only going to be a matter of time before Jacob was forbidden to see or even speak to Bella, especially if the family had decided to change Bella into a vampire.
When it came to new people in her life, Rosalie was cautious about them, only because of how her human life had gone towards the end when she was left for dead. Everyone just needed to realize that Rosie took awhile to trust someone, but that she usually always turned around and got along with them. The only person that she had attached herself to rather quickly, was Emmett, but that was a different story, because that was for love, not friendship.
"Thank you mother," Rosalie said to her, sensing the slight bit of jealousy in her mother's voice. Rosie knew how much Esme had always wanted a baby. When they were both human,s they both had desperately wanted a baby and a family, although now, this was the real thing for Rosie. Why couldn't she deal with this though now? She had gotten what she had always wanted, so what was the problem now? It was because she didn't want to bring another vampire into the world so that they had to spend all of eternity as a vampire.
